Jail Ministry

Having served prisoners in municipal, county and state prisons we recognize that former inmates have special needs and often suffer difficult circumstances.

Some basic advice.  Find a Bible-based Church.  Avoid sects and cults.  If you’re confused contact us.

  • If you’re newly free, be sure to find a church as soon as you can.  If you can’t drive, call and ask for a ride to services.  If the first church you contact isn’t helpful, try another.
  • If you’re able to find a church, volunteer to help.  You’ve more than likely learned skills while inside — cooking, cleaning, grounds keeping — all of these are worthy and needful of help.  You’ll be blessed.  Don’t expect to be paid.
  • After you’ve been there for a bit, if the Lord puts it on your heart, consider being baptized.  Your testimony and experience may be of great value to others who are struggling with their circumstances.  Don’t be afraid to live for God.
  • If for some reason you’re shunned — find another church.  God is with you, that’s most important.

We strongly recommend you plug into a “Celebrate Recovery” group.  If you attended Celebrate Recovery Inside — you might have had the opportunity to plan for a post-release follow-up.  Take advantage of those contacts!

God bless you!
