The truth of any matter must be established on the testimony of witnesses. And witnesses cannot testify of themselves. Sola Scriptura - citing only scripture - is therefore, unbiblical… according to an a-priori theorem that scripture itself instructs requires witnesses. And this is corroborated because these instructions are of Jesus himself.
Deliberate argumentative fabrication in the face of truth is sin. Slothful thinking - for instance using biblical allegory as a basis for thinly veiled "scientific proofs" and the deliberate, incorrect interpretation of observable fact - is simply lying.

Literal v. Metaphorical - Before the Church fussed over the age of the earth and cosmos, the Church and its science told us the sun revolved around the earth and that the earth was flat. How did we stop paying attention to reality in the 21st century?
