Not one stone left upon another…

Politics in Church is abhorrent. It’s distasteful to write about.

But as health and economic crises meet the suggestion of insurrection, we must. This is the political climate that frames the November 2020 referendum on the 45th President.

Burning Down the Institutions of Our republic.

Nationalism and Insurrection; Vicious racist power grab. Lifted by divisive paranoia coupled with presumptive attitudes of righteousness, entitlement and sovereignty. Based on lies.

The 2016 election carried a person into the oval office supported by the power of politics from the Pulpit. Perhaps it is time to talk about how God views profaning His house.

Begin from Jesus affirming the witness of John the Baptist…

“Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved. “He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.”

John 5:34-35

And his condemnation of false witnesses…

“… if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. “How can you believe, who receive honor from one another…”

John 5:43-44

“Honor from one another”

Temporal loyalty, Presidential sycophants and surrounding themselves with false prophets: A profane “burning and shining lamp…”

Recall the profane fire of Nadab and Abihu? Now: The Evangelical underpinning of political insurrection.

“… each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them…”

Lev. 10:1-2

“Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.”

Is. 50:11

Then, the personal call of the Lord, that does not depend on “Honor from one another.”

“Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. …For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him.”

Is. 51:1-2

On justice for ALL… being against an isolated, powerful controlling few who operate outside of His will, those enemies of the “least” – widows, orphans, aliens, prisoners … Pharisees in His time, False Evangelical Leadership… in ours.

“Listen to Me, My people; And give ear to Me, O My nation: For law will proceed from Me, And I will make My justice rest As a light of the peoples.”

Is. 51:4

“Peoples” plural. And “…justice rest As a light of the peoples.” We pray for this justice to come.

These weeks of private, isolated reflection – have been incredibly rich; in the time of famine and fasting at “Social Distances” the Glory of Lord is passing by, His Spirit is washing through our midst.

It may be that the Nexus of Politics and the Last Days Church will lead to the destruction of the institutions of men (Democracy, a Republic of Sovereign States) to crumble and fail. Anarchy may follow… but only for a time. When the Lord establishes His justice, all of these temporal constructions will be leveled. He will build his Kingdom on the Rock.

“Not one stone upon the other…”
