Nexus: Mysticism Serves Ignorance

Presently in our temporal lives we see two poles of a dichotomy … Left and Right. The list of newsworthy examples too long to recite. Cable news is polarized. Use this for instance:

Virginia pastor who defiantly held church service dies of coronavirus.

Spiritually we have: Genuine faith and Godly connectedness. Versus: faith in false ideals, doctrine and false hopes.

1.) Freedom to serve.

Where conscience is concerned: A distinct requirement that my compunction is actually informed by the Spirit of God. Paul says:

“…For why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience.”

1Cor. 10:29.

Which is “let the innocent be innocent.” (Study this out!)

2.) Defilement from within.

Where correctness is concerned: Selective adherence to false doctrines that have captured many. Jesus says:

“Let them alone. They are like the **blind leading the blind.

Mt. 15:14.

Which is “let corruption be condemned.”

“Every tree which my father has not planted will be uprooted.”

Mt. 15.13

…. the issues of this age are reflections of the very ones Jesus faced with Judaism in His time. We are witnesses in this time to the same nexus:

A core of zealous, false (evangelical) mysticism that serves as the foundation for a bloated cult of ignorance and denial.

“To his own master he stands or he falls.”

Ro. 14:4

Are we among the blessed few who have been permitted to live and to **SEE the Day of the Lord approach?

“But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.” Ro.14:10

Ro.14:10

“Oh, that my head were a spring of water and my eyes a fountain of tears! I would weep day and night for the slain of my people.”

Jer. 9:1

Dear reader: Let us hope to be found with my heart full of grief as a witness to the sweep of the hand of God. Oh Lord! I fear being like Jonah. But I do so desire “justice!”

Even so the Lord is all about mercy and not judgement. At least not quite yet…

We hear much about the clash of governance versus a constitutional guarantee to gather for worship. Where is the place of wisdom? Maybe Jesus would say: “let worshipers worship.” What does my conscience tell me? What confidence is there in our gathering, that what passes for worship in the breadth of Christendom smells all that sweet to the Lord? Not much to no confidence at all. Hasn’t it been like that for quite a while?

“Therefore by Him, let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Heb. 13:15

Heb. 13:15

The heart of most congregational worship is devoted to comfort and wealth, inclusion and the security of “belonging” — everyone raises their hands, everyone sways. Or not. All having abdicated any personal connection to God to following the leader and seeking the approval of men.

“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.”

Mat. 15:18
