Famine as a time of Fasting and Prayer…

Are we like frogs in heating water? How are we using this time? Is famine imposed to bring a time of fasting and prayer?

“Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?”

Heb. 12:7

Where do I stand? (I ask myself and confess to you…) “What am I learning / receiving from the Lord during this time of discipline? What’s he showing us?”

Yes, this is a season of famine, we are prevented from gathering. Has God got our attention yet?

An allegorical rendering of Ruth 1…

“In the days when the judges judged, at a time when there was a famine in the land, a certain man from the House of Bread took his wife and two sons and turned aside from the path into the territory of incest.”

Ruth Chapter 1

Judges judging. Territory of incest.

A re-interpretation for time like ours might read:

“In the days when preachers preached, at a time when there was no spiritual food for people in the Church, a certain man from the House of the Word of God took his family and turned aside from “The Path of Righteousness” into expanding, practicing and regurgitating the of doctrines of men.”

There is a connection of “type” between “incest” and the person to person transmission of false teaching. Which is the regurgitation of unfounded belief. Upon such cults have been built. Such doctrines are not of God, they are against God’s truth.

The transmission of false teaching Pastor to congregant and person to person … is akin to adultery with idols.

People worshiping the creation of their own hands. Incest.

Leadership has been responding to covid … Politically, its chaos. Science denial has become a fulcrum.

Claimants to the leadership of the Church: Politics from the pulpit. Evangelical Mysticism reinforces political anarchy – Flat Earth, Anti-vax, Climate … the list of false teaching is long.

“When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ standing where it does not belong–let the reader understand–then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.”

Mark 13:14

“Do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”

Zech 7:10

Praying against enemies? Personally releasing the holy spirit? Too many other infractions to list…

“Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

1Cor. 15:33

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.”

Ps. 1:1

The walls of the church are weak. We are being washed away in the storm of Gods unhappy discipline.

“So I will pour out my wrath against the wall and against those who covered it with whitewash. I will say to you, “The wall is gone and so are those who whitewashed it.” ”

Ez 13:15

Untempered mortar… False prophets, false doctrine.

Altars to the lord were assembled with undressed (natural) stones — no mortar. Then the instruction to build the temple. And now in the Age of Grace: True churches are mortared together with the concrete word of God.
