When Allegory Manifests

Are we witnesses to the manifestation of prophesy? Do recent events rise to that level of notice?

An allegorical rendering of scripture replaces proper names of people and places with their alliterative, direct meaning. E.g., translating names and places into their given meaning.

allegorical reading of Ruth 1:1

In the days when the judges judged, at a time when there was a famine in the land, a certain man from the House of Bread took his wife and two sons and turned aside from the path into the territory of incest.

Judges judging. Territory of incest.

A re-interpretation for time like ours might read:

In the days when preachers preached, at a time when there was no spiritual food for people in the Church, a certain man from the House of the Word of God took his family and turned aside from “The Path of righteousness” into regurgitating and practicing the of doctrines of men.

This is making a connection of “type” between “incest” and the person to person transmission of false teaching. Which is the regurgitation of unfounded belief. Upon such cults have been built. Such doctrines are not of God, they are against God’s truth.

The transmission of false teaching Pastor to congregant and person to person … is akin to adultery with idols.

21 days since the operative practice of “Social Distancing” began.

So we are presently, by Gods providential justice – confined and isolated. We are not gathering at Church.

Maybe you’ve already felt “distant” from those you attend church with?

Before Him went pestilence and fever followed at His feet.

Habakkuk 3:5

People of conscience are complying with the directive from those who govern for social distancing. The Coronavirus plague … has reduced church attendance certainly. Some have moved “services” online. So there is, in a tangible way, a famine in the land for hearing of the word of God. But in an interpretive way, this famine has existed for generations. Just like it did at the time of the Judges.

In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Judges 21:15

In those days there was no leader speaking truth to those governed By God; every man followed whomever he wished.

Interpretive for our time, of Judges 21:15

Faith is no covering for fools. Radical “Evangelical mysticism” anchors the denial of truth in so many areas that concern us all … intellectual sloth and spiritual slumber.

It is remarkable symmetry with Jihadist fatalism to say “I’m covered by blood of Jesus” whilst ignorantly flouting social distance conventions put in place for our time. Where is my love of my neighbor?

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Matthew 22:38-40

There is no reasoning with madness.

“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign Lord, “when I will send a famine through the land— not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord.

Amos 8:11

What are some of the areas Radical Evangelical Mysticism affects?

How about handling snakes? Or positions on Creation Science? Cosmology?

Rapture theory enables adherents to take positions akin to “I don’t need to worry, I won’t be here for that.” “I’m outa here.” as an eschatological outcome is in conflict with so much biblical truth it’s astonishing. I am by brother’s keeper.

Please don’t misunderstand. Jesus is coming again. Definitely. But scripture says, I can’t know exactly when.

The reader is welcome to search their own discernment…

Is it time to begin questioning the substance of what we are taught?

The Bereans (Acts 17) always searched scripture to be sure what they were hearing was truthful. And they only had the Old Testament.

Mystical untruths originate from two forms of interpretive malpractice:

  • When rigid biblical interpretation requires nonsensical adherence to false conclusions.
  • When contextual interpretive license conjures understanding that simply doesn’t appear in the Bible.

Such deception can be very, very subtle. But All of it produces conflict and confusion.

People will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the Lord, but they will not find it.

Amos 8:12
