Tearing Believers Apart

This came into our inboxes…

“At 7 o’clock this evening many are taking a few minutes to pray for our nation:

Intercede for the spiritually lost. Many are feeling ‘lost’ right now. They don’t know where to go or what to do and they are fearful.

Pray for revival among believers that walking with God would be their #1 priority, getting on their knees in prayer and studying the Word even though most churches are closed.

Call for the full exposing of evil in high places in government, media, education, and entertainment. Crises can lay bare motives, thoughts, and intents of the heart. (Crisis is also a time when the radical left will try to take advantage and put freedom-restricting laws into place.)

Intercede for President Trump, his Cabinet members, and the Coronavirus Task Force as they continue to develop the right strategy for America to get through this season. Keep panic out, but wisdom, prudence, and carefulness.”

From a woman active in her Church as a Teacher/Small Group Leader

when the radical left will try to take advantage and put freedom-restricting laws into place.

This is anger, unvarnished hate toward others disguised as Christian orthodoxy.

We are killing each other off in our hearts!

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.

Matthew 5:21-22

Where is our shame? Where is our deep aching grief?

“Oh, that my head were waters, And my eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night For the slain of the daughter of my people!”

Jeremiah 9:1

Despite any license we feel for injecting politically polarized notions into our “Godly Exhortation” … there is no place for politics among true believers. The Kingdom of God, our home – is an abject theocracy. Democracy is an invention of men. Don’t be fooled

There is a great deception taking place that has fogged many minds: That the “Church” must influence politics. Individual faith should inform voters. Too often in the past has the Church used it’s position to influence and even control governance.

I don’t expect people to consider what I’ve said in a meaningful way — instead they will take offense and dismiss. I don’t confront them anymore. All interaction produces — even in the most loving way — is heated argument.

Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.

2 Timothy 2:23-24

It’s even worse if what “confrontationalists” are doing is regurgitating what they hear from the pulpit. Where is independent thought, independent faith? Where is the influence of the Spirit of God in my life?

The Spirit tells me: We are killing each other with words. Politics is breaking down the gates of the Church in a way nothing previously could. I hear the Lord weep over his people …

And so my heart breaks … finding fellowship with true believers is more and more rare.
