“And He was amazed at their lack of faith” Mark 6:6
“From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”John 6:66-69
Don’t be insaner than a crazy person.
“Arguephilia” – The compulsion to “reason” with crazy people.
Okay, I just made that up. But really, the only thing crazier than a crazy person is arguing with one.
The most sane thing anyone ever adopts in their life is: Faith in Jesus. Therefore, it is utter craziness to reject him. But we see rejection of faith over and over in scripture and watch it happen in our own lives.
Working in recovery communities has convinced us that there is genuine truth when we say:
“You don’t know God is all you need until, Jesus is all you have.”
God reaches down into our emptiness. But it’s up to us to take his hand. In that moment of powerlessness we exercise the tiniest bit of Faith. Eventually faith produces trust and together, these empower us to either reach for Godly things or wait for God in trials.
We simply trust God to produce the desires of our heart. But! … there are conditions on receiving God’s provision.
“A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.”Proverbs 16:9
Is the desire of my heart aligned with with will of God?
As much as I desire to see another come to faith, am I willing to walk away like Jesus does?
