A favorite Pastor actually said “Guys, if your wife has problems – it’s your fault.”
We disagree.
Ephesians 5 doesn’t convey fault, it confers responsibility.
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” Ephesians 5:25-27.
My wife’s problems are no more my fault than when the wind blows down a tree in my yard. It’s not my fault, but it is my responsibility to clean up the mess.
