“If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” 1Peter 4:15-17
The New King James version phrases this warning:
“But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters.”
Murder. Theft. Evil. … Meddler. Astonishing association among the members of this list.
News in Oregon Live: “Oregon Judge Refuses To Perform Same-Sex Marriages …”
This action – claimed under the covering of Christian Faith – is of course in direct conflict with 1Peter 2:13 (and all of scripture generally)
“Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him…”
Some ordinances? Or “every” ?

If you agree that defiance of ungodly policies of Secular Authority in Government is a “Christian Duty”, this post points out point out that defiance of authority is in direct conflict with scripture.
Peter and John defied the Sanhedrin not because of their resistance to ungodly policy, but in obedience to Jesus command to share the Good News. We should do no less.
Leaders must now stand for what is true and not be drawn into this heresy.
For the idols speak delusion; The diviners envision lies, And tell false dreams; They comfort in vain. Therefore [the people] wend their way like sheep; They are in trouble because [there is] no shepherd. Zechariah 10:2
If this begins the division of the truth in the Church? Even so Lord Jesus Come! (2Thes 2:1-3)
