We enjoy going out to “Sing A Long” with residents at:
You know: grab the guitar and play some of the old hymns? It’s been an enormous joy past couple of years to share songs out of the old hymnal for an hour, couple times per month.
I’ve remarked previously to some:
“They may not remember what they had for breakfast, but everybody sings along with ‘The Old Rugged Cross.’ “
Attached, is a song I bumped into this weekend that I was shocked I hadn’t previously snagged into my binder … this is Merl Haggard’s version (slight difference in chorus.)
I guess what I’m saying is that this morning I’m reminded — there’s more than one way to be stuck “inside.”
And I’ll get it printed and put in the song books that go into the Prison. A blessing there too.
